The National Archaeological Museum, the New Acropolis Museum, the Archaeological Museum of Kerameikos, the Museum of the Ancient Agora, the Byzantine and Christian Museum, the Museum of Greek Folk Art, the Museum of Cycladic Art, the National Gallery-Museum of Alexandros Soutsos, the War Museum, the Benaki Museum, the Numismatic Museum, the Goulandri Museum, are only a few of Athens’ 5O Museums.

The National Museum of Contemporary Art
Located on Syggrou Avenue, right where Fix brewery used to be in the early days, the National Museum of Contemporary Art offers visitors the opportunity to explore the cultural past, the present and above all the future of Greece. In a vast space, there are exhibitions that will steal your heart away and allow you to take a glimpse at the splendor of Greek artistic expression in general.
All the great contemporary artists are there through their work, including Costas Tsoclis and Lucas Samaras.
There are also international additions from well respected artists worldwide, while the collection of the museum is constantly enriched with more masterpieces of art.
Due to its central location and emblematic building, the National Museum of Contemporary Art is of great interest to Athenian travelers coming from all over the world. There is a metro station nearby (Syggrou – Fix station), which you can use for smoothly accessing the site. It is definitely worth visiting, so as to appreciate modern, contemporary works of art in the heart of Athens.
